| A short flight into Chicago, a long overnight flight Rome, and then a half day train ride to Florence. Throw in a cab ride, some walking, and we pretty much covered all forms of transportation with the exception of horses.
Florence is a great place to begin an Italian vacation. The Duomo, the statue of David, the Piti Palace, and the Via Venato are enough to fill a single day with excursions. We had three, a slow pace, and much more than the usual tourist attractions to visit. |
