Italy 2019 - From Top To Bottom - Rome

Introduction
Florence
Rome
Syracuse
Taormina
Knowing your way around a foreign city always makes visiting there a joy. This was my ninth trip to Rome; the first one when I was only eight years old. You can see all the major sites in one day, but to really experience one of the world's great cities, you need much longer. We started our four days in the city with a Papal address on Sunday morning, just as we arrived from Florence.

I have been telling friends and strangers about Porto di Ripetta, a world-class dining experience, since I first ate there in 2008. Carol and I celebrated her birthday there this trip and we ate our last meal in Italy there as well. If you go to Rome and don't eat at Porto di Ripetta, you've missed one of the ten best restaurants in the world.
